Symbiotic Drone
About
The Symbiotic Drone offers an innovative control approach to steering a (simulated) drone. As the “pilot,” the user wears a Fly Jacket—a garment with an embedded motion sensor and arm support—and controls the drone using smooth torso movements. Visual feedback provided through an Oculus Rift completes the immersion.

Jenifer Miehlbradt is a PhD candidate working on human-machine interactions at École Polytechnique Fédéral de Lausanne (EPFL). She obtained a BSc in Life Sciences from EPFL in 2011 and a MSc in Biomedical Engineering from ETH Zurich in 2013.

Carine Rognon is a PhD candidate working on human-machine interactions at EPFL. She obtained a BSc in Microengineering from EPFL in 2013 and a MSc in Biomedical Engineering from ETH Zurich in 2015.
