Nature doesn’t need people, but people need nature. Conservation International (CI) was looking for help spread- ing that simple but powerful message when they came to FoST.
The community came up with two creative solutions that CI acted on. One was a photo contest that drove participation in the #INeedNature campaign and received more than 7,000 submissions. The second idea engaged YouTube celebrities to participate by taking over CI’s Instagram account for multiple days. That effort resulted in nearly 40,000 shares over six weeks.
YouTube musician Daria Musk also proposed an effort to engage other YouTube stars to enlist their followers to participate and ultimately garnered the support of nine millenial YouTube stars and generated 33,000 views on YouTube.
