Just one year later, she is singing for some 2 million fans on Google+ alone, has performed live in cities around the world, and has changed the way people think about live concerts and global connectivity. Musk calls the phenomenon she created the "ripple effect," which she calls the "cure to viral." "It's not the viral spike of a cat video on YouTube," Musk says in this film about her dream-come-true journey. "The ripple effect is different than anything you've experienced on a social network or online. It's not a passive experience. It's not just re-sharing a video of something that's already happened." The ripple effect is inclusive, brings people together. The hundreds of thousands of people who watch Musk's live Google+ concerts, as well as the people in the "front row seats" of the Google+ Hangouts she uses to broadcast and connect, are participants in a real-time event, "and they have become new characters in my story, they are the plot twist in my life that I never saw coming." Few people were more blown away by Daria Musk's overnight success than Google+ engineering director Chee Chew, who shares his own insights in this film, recounting how Musk pushed the boundaries of Google+'s technical parameters, spurring Chew and his team to come up with tech upgrades on the fly.
