When Franklin Leonard started out in Hollywood, access was limited to those who started off with an "in" or were foolish enough to think they didn't need one. But then Leonard started an email chain that changed the film industry: the Black List, an annual survey of the best unproduced screenplays. Since its inception over a decade ago, the Black List has featured scripts that have gone on to win dozens of Academy Awards, including three of the last seven Best Picture winners. The Black List is now a global community, part of Leonard's mission to allow anyone in the world to get their foot in the door, remaking Hollywood as a place where content rules and diversity is rewarded.
