Nancy Pearson — Watson & You: Storytelling in the Age of AI
The cognitive system IBM Watson first received notice for beating Ken Jennings in Jeopardy!, and its powerful machine learning has been put to use for everything from business applications to creating recipes. Nancy Pearson explores how Watson can be utilized as a creative tool and put to use by human storytellers.

Watson can quickly analyze enormous amounts of data in order to provide insights that humans couldn’t discover alone, whether that’s common character profiles in successful films, or generating possible outcomes for a pre-established story scenario. Watson’s ability to learn and refine its technique means it’s up to humans to help the system reach its potential.
