About the Position:
We are looking for a Head of New Business who will lead our new business opportunities and growth. Reporting directly to our CEO and founder, Charlie Melcher, you will be the driving force behind our new business engine. You’ll cultivate and nurture relationships with clients, develop and execute innovative growth strategies, and champion the groundbreaking work of our studio. As our Head of New Business, you will:
- Spearhead and Own Growth: Identify, engage, convert, and scale new business opportunities, growing initial conversations into long-term, high-value partnerships.

Future of StoryTelling (FoST) is seeking an Executive Producer to help bring extraordinary stories to life across a range of formats for the world’s most innovative thinkers.
As Executive Producer, you’ll report to the Director and CEO, and serve as a creative and operational leader across a portfolio of high-profile projects. You’ll oversee the development and execution of immersive live experiences, digital content, films, XR installations, and curatorial programs—both for clients and for the FoST Explorers Club.
This is a hybrid role that blends experiential production, multimedia creation, and editorial curation. You’ll manage timelines, budgets, creative teams, and client relationships—while also spotting cultural trends, identifying cutting-edge talent, and shaping the vision of each project.

As Executive Producer, you will:
- Produce Breakthrough Experiences: Lead production of live events, immersive experiences, installations, exhibits, and digital activations for clients.
- Craft Multimedia: Oversee production of films, podcasts, XR experiences, and interactive digital projects in collaboration with creative teams.
- Build Bespoke Teams: Identify and assemble the right mix of editorial, creative, and technical talent for each project, tailoring teams to fit each unique brief.
- Curate Stories & Talent: Research and recommend speakers, performers, and artists pushing boundaries in XR, AI, immersive tech, and storytelling.
- Own Projects End-to-End: Create and manage budgets, scopes, SOWs, production timelines, contracts, vendor hiring, and deliverables from kickoff through launch.
- Lead Teams & Mentor Talent: Manage internal staff and external collaborators—empowering creatives, supporting junior producers, and building a culture of excellence.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
We are seeking a forward-thinking Technical Producer to lead the technical realization of groundbreaking, ambitious creative projects. You will be responsible for bridging creative vision and emerging technology—scoping, managing, and implementing innovative technical solutions across a wide range of formats including immersive entertainment, mixed reality, live events, and multimedia installations.
As a core leader of the FoST team, you will not only ensure that each project is technically sound and flawlessly executed, but also push the boundaries of what’s possible by staying ahead of the curve in hardware, software, and experience design tools. You’ll be expected to bring new technologies to the table, help vet experimental approaches, and serve as a guiding force in how we deploy storytelling innovations.
The Impact You’ll Make:
- Lead technical design and execution on complex creative projects, from large-scale immersive productions, to interactive media experiences.
- Ability to work out of our Manhattan office 2x a week (Wednesdays and Thursdays).
- Translate creative concepts into detailed technical plans and oversee their realization—from R&D through install and launch.
- Identify, propose, and implement cutting-edge media technologies (XR, spatial audio, real-time rendering, interactive systems).
- Integrate AI and generative tools into workflows and content pipelines where appropriate—collaborating with creative and strategy teams to explore new possibilities.
- Source, manage, and collaborate with VFX firms, AV vendors, systems integrators, interactive developers, etc.
- Serve as the technical point of contact between creative, production, and client teams.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, budgets, schedules, and implementation timelines.
- Supervise onsite builds, testing, tech rehearsals, and troubleshooting, ensuring quality and safety.
- Maintain strong awareness of emerging tools, platforms, and production techniques to continuously evolve our technical capabilities.
Qualifications:
- A seasoned technical producer or creative technologist with 8+ years in immersive media, production, or experiential design.
- Deep knowledge of AV systems, projection, lighting, spatial computing, and interactive tech (Unreal, Unity, etc.).
- Passionate about new tools and methods—constantly scanning the horizon for what’s next in storytelling tech.
- Curious and experimental with AI and generative technologies; you understand their creative potential and how to apply them responsibly in production environments.

ABOUT THE POSITION
We’re looking for a Marketing Lead to spearhead the launch campaign for The Future of StoryTelling. This freelance role is perfect for someone with experience in book marketing and publicity who thrives on relationship-building, outreach, and making things happen. You’ll work closely with the author (FoST’s founder Charles Melcher), and be responsible for securing, coordinating, and executing a wide range of opportunities to promote the book—from PR to partnerships to speaking engagements.
The ideal candidate is part marketer, part publicist, part creative hustler—someone who understands how to build momentum, craft compelling narratives, and get attention in a crowded media landscape.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and execute a marketing and publicity plan to promote The Future of StoryTelling ahead of its November 4, 2025 launch—and beyond.
- Book speaking engagements for Charles Melcher at high-profile events, conferences, companies, and salons—particularly those attended by senior executives and decision-makers who could lead to new business opportunities.
- Secure strategic partnership opportunities (e.g., with conferences, cultural organizations, or retail platforms) that align with the book’s message and audience.

- Overseeing narrative development and content creation for a groundbreaking new immersive, interactive museum.

Key Responsibilities:
Museum Editorial Leadership
- Act as editorial lead on deliverables, ensuring clarity, high quality design, and brand alignment across all touchpoints.

- Lead the writing and creative development of annual reports, naming guides, story guide updates, and other core documents.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
We are seeking a Creative Director to lead concept development and creative execution across a range of projects, from experiential and immersive storytelling to digital content and publishing. This role will be instrumental in shaping the creative vision for client projects, while also supporting business development by crafting compelling creative pitches.
The ideal candidate has a background in experiential, digital, or interdisciplinary storytelling—someone who thinks beyond any one medium and can bring big, bold ideas to life across formats. While this is primarily a FoST role, the Creative Director will also contribute to Melcher Media projects, helping shape and elevate creative concepts across the company.
We are looking for a creative leader with strong experience developing and selling ideas, but who is still hands-on and adaptable—able to lead creative vision without requiring a full team of designers and writers.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
We’re looking for an exceptional Executive Assistant to provide high-level support to our Founder & CEO, Charlie Melcher. This role is perfect for someone who is:

WHAT YOU’LL DO
As the Executive Assistant, you’ll be the right hand to the CEO, ensuring his day-to-day operations run seamlessly. Key responsibilities include:
Executive Support & Communications
- Manage the CEO’s schedule, travel, and high-profile meetings with top executives, partners, and creatives
- Track key conversations and action items—taking meeting notes, handling follow-ups, and keeping everything on track
- Oversee email & written communications, ensuring timely and professional responses
- Act as a liaison between the CEO and senior executives, partners, and clients
Project & Business Development Support
- Assist in producing the FoST Podcast and coordinating the FoST Explorers Club events
- Support new business development efforts, including research, proposal writing, and tracking leads
- Conduct research on trends in media, entertainment, and immersive storytelling
- Participate in creative brainstorming sessions for upcoming projects
Office & Operations Management
- Maintain organized databases, contact lists, and social media accounts
- Help with general office management tasks to ensure smooth day-to-day operations

ABOUT THE POSITION
Are you passionate about storytelling, design, and digital innovation? Do you want to gain hands-on experience at the cutting edge of media, publishing, and immersive storytelling? Melcher Media and the Future of StoryTelling (FoST) are seeking bright, creative, and motivated interns to join our team and explore the future of books, digital media, and interactive experiences.
This is a paid, temporary internship (3–12 months) for recent graduates and offers an unparalleled opportunity to work alongside industry leaders on groundbreaking storytelling projects with top global brands. You’ll get firsthand exposure to all facets of our creative studio—whether you’re interested in editorial, graphic design, film editing, event production, social media, business development, or AI-powered storytelling. Our goal is to help you sharpen your skills, gain real-world experience, and explore potential career paths in the media and storytelling industries.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON:
Interns will gain hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Editorial & Content Creation – Collaborate with editors and producers on books, films, podcasts, websites, and multimedia projects.
- Design & Visual Storytelling – Help create books, print materials, marketing assets, infographics, social media graphics, and digital experiences.
- Film & Video Production – Assist in editing videos, crafting social media content, and developing digital storytelling assets.
- Event & Experience Design – Support the production of FoST’s in-person and digital programming, immersive experiences, and workshops.
- Social Media & Digital Strategy – Work with producers to develop outreach strategies and create compelling online content.
- Business Development & Innovation – Research new opportunities, brainstorm creative partnerships, craft proposals, and explore emerging storytelling tools.
- General Studio Support – Work alongside senior staff to keep projects running smoothly and contribute to all aspects of our fast-paced creative studio.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- A deep love for storytelling—whether through books, film, digital media, social platforms, or emerging technology.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as media, design, communications, or business (relevant internship experience is a plus). - Strong work ethic, curiosity, and eagerness to learn in a collaborative environment.
- Experience with creative tools such as InDesign, Photoshop, Canva, Figma, Adobe Premiere Pro, and/or Final Cut Pro.
- Bonus points for HTML knowledge, but it’s not required.
- We’re also open to considering junior graphic designers, production assistants, or editorial assistants with 1-3 years of experience for full-time positions.
