ABOUT THE POSITION:

Do you love working with creative teams on cutting-edge projects for some of the world’s biggest brands? Are you interested in how new forms of technology shape the kinds of stories we can tell today? Do you enjoy project managing innovative ideas and seeing them come to life during award-winning live events? If you answered yes to these questions, we want to hear from you. We are the Future of StoryTelling (FoST), the premier storytelling company producing first-in-class live events. We are looking for a top-notch Experiential Producer to supervise and coordinate all aspects of event and production planning for in-person and virtual events throughout the year. The Experiential Producer will support the FoST Explorers Club(R)—our exclusive 200-person, invitation-only, year-round membership program—as well as oversee client events, ongoing storytelling courses, and pop-up events. The ideal candidate will possess the unique ability to think creatively about new kinds of event formats and contribute ideas to experience design. They will not only oversee production, but lead curation, which includes paying close attention to immersive and new forms of storytelling and surfacing the individuals and companies doing the most interesting work. Meticulous organizational skills as well as confidence in negotiating and an instinct for competitive pricing are essential. The right candidate ideally will come with a strong global network of subcontractors.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5–10 years of experience curating and producing live and virtual events, festivals, immersive experiences, and/or conferences.
  • Ability to identify up-and-coming and undiscovered talent and projects that are aligned with FoST’s curatorial focus—those leading the way in AR, AI, VR, wearables, IoT, new interfaces, and beyond.
  • Strong instincts about what would be insightful, informative, and/or inspirational to FoST’s members, attendees, and online readers.
  • Willingness to lead and contribute to creative brainstorms and content discussions.
  • Connections to artists in the immersive experience spaces is a definite plus.
  • Expertise with new media and technologies, and a knack for technical troubleshooting for exhibition production
  • An instinct for thinking “big picture” while simultaneously maintaining a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Creative problem solver.
  • Quick decision-making instincts and the ability to work and thrive under pressure.
  • Flexible attitude, with the ability to multi-task and wear multiple hats.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

The Future of StoryTelling (FoST) is seeking a visionary and dynamic Account Director to join our multidisciplinary story studio, dedicated to harnessing the power of narratives to inspire, connect, and enact positive change. Our mission is to create transformative stories and experiences that bring people together, provoke curiosity, and foster a more empathetic and understanding world.

We are a small agency, which means the world of account management is vast and varied—you will be the key liaison between our in-house production and creative teams and our clients, but you will also have your own knowledge of and experience with creative storytelling, brand messaging, communications, and general business strategy. We are looking for someone who is exceptionally attentive to client needs, approaching relationships with the highest level of hospitality, and is also highly focused on details and deadlines.

A successful Account Director at Future of StoryTelling will be able to assemble, oversee, and manage creative and production teams to produce quality content and they will have a network of creators across disciplines (copywriters, strategists, marketers, designers) that they can recruit and tap into for various client projects. The right Account Director will be adept at research, writing, and communication, and they will be able to work with both clients and talent to help articulate and conceive ideas. The Account Director will report directly to both our Director of Future of StoryTelling and our CEO and Founder, and will work closely with all members of the Future of StoryTelling team, including our COO, our Head of Growth, our Executive Producer, our Head of Strategic Development, our Creative Strategist, and our Associate Producers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic Client Management: Develop and nurture strong relationships with our diverse clientele, including world-class brands, artists, and marketers. Understand their storytelling needs and objectives to provide strategic guidance and innovative solutions.
  • Project Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality storytelling projects that meet or exceed client expectations. This includes oversight of project lifecycles from conception through execution, ensuring timely delivery and exceptional quality.
  • Business Development: Because we are a small company, we believe it’s everyone’s responsibility to help grow our client base. The right Account Director will have strong relationships from previous work experience and will be expected to help us identify and pursue new business opportunities, expanding FoST’s reach into new markets and storytelling mediums.
  • Collaboration and Innovation: Work closely with FoST’s creative, production, and technology teams to develop cutting-edge storytelling experiences that leverage immersive, interactive, and multi-sensory approaches. Drive innovation within the team, encouraging the exploration of new ideas and technologies.
  • Community Engagement: Represent FoST within the storytelling and creative industries, fostering relationships with key influencers, partners, and potential clients. Actively contribute to the FoST community, sharing insights and trends that can benefit the wider network.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in account management, preferably within a creative agency, media, or storytelling-focused organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to guide complex projects in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Business acumen and instincts for driving strategic growth
  • Passion for storytelling, innovation, and the role of narratives in creating social impact.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of inspiring both clients and team members.
  • A collaborative spirit, with experience working in multidisciplinary teams.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

FoST is currently looking for an experienced, creative, graphic designer to support a talented team of 15 on a variety of design assignments. The right candidate will have strong aesthetic sensibilities, with a willingness to collaborate and take feedback and direction from clients and other team members. This is an incredible opportunity to be at the intersection of storytelling and technology in a dynamic organization. Expect invaluable exposure to the latest trends in new media and cutting-edge storytelling, while helping to support a network of visionary producers and storytellers, world-class brands, and recognized authors.

As the lead graphic designer on the team, you will be expected to design original print and digital assets for our FoST Explorers Club® and other clients such as the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library Foundation; create and design dynamic proposals and pitch decks to win new business opportunities; from time to time, design book covers and interiors for Melcher Media book projects; oversee the redesign and relaunch of our websites; liaise with, provide guidance to, and share creative ideas and suggestions with other freelance designers working on FoST and Melcher Media projects; cultivate and manage a stable of reliable and creative freelance designers. Currently our small team of 15 has successfully transitioned to a hybrid work environment, working remotely 3 days per week and in the office 2 days per week.  We are open to fulltime remote workers but would prefer a candidate who is based in New York.

THE CANDIDATE WILL BE EXPECTED TO

  • Create original design concepts for in-house print and digital collateral;
  • Create marketing assets for our FoST podcast and social media outlets;
  • Create original designs for FoST and Melcher Media clients (familiarity with book design and layout is a must);
  • Implement design revisions based on feedback from clients;
  • Create pitch decks and proposals to help secure new business;
  • Give creative feedback to projects being designed by freelance designers;
  • Participate in creative brainstorming meetings for new and existing projects;
  • Establish system for version control and archiving pitch proposals and other design assets;

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (MFA preferred);
  • 5-10 years experience in-house at a creative studio or agency;
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator; and
  • Familiarity with Canva and Figma.
