Peacock: Immersive LED Olympic Cube
Leveraging cutting-edge technology to unite Olympic fans across New York City.
Challenge
For the 2024 Summer Olympics, Peacock needed an eye-catching installation for their 30 Rockefeller Plaza headquarters that would showcase their extensive Olympics coverage. They approached us to help create a one-of-a-kind art piece that would draw in large crowds, endure the elements, highlight unique features from their streaming platform, and capture the Olympic spirit for the entire two-week event.
Solution
In just under six weeks, we developed a stunning four-sided LED cube, inspired by the luxurious gold of the Peacock and NBC Olympics logos. Each face highlighted different features of Peacock’s platform—live streams, star athletes, and more. We also added demo stations with the full Peacock app for guests to explore. Crafted from waterproof materials, the installation even withstood New York’s first tornado warning in years.
First-Place Turnout
Hundreds of people gathered together to watch the Opening Ceremony on our cube, which had a record-breaking 28.6 million views–the most-watched opening ceremony since 2012. Over the course of our run, hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers and tourists stopped by our installation to take pictures, demo the Peacock app, and cheer together when Team USA took first place.
Commitment to Excellence
With hundreds of events taking place over the two-week span of the Olympics, our team carefully curated each of the 13 different live feeds in our cube, making sure we brought the most exciting sports, highlights, and Peacock Originals to the audience at all times. Our team in the control room switched between each event manually for 15 hours a day, paying close attention to any changes in the Paris schedule and adjusting on the fly.

Olympic-Inspired Design
Taking design cues from Peacock and NBC’s Olympics branding, our cube was covered with shimmering gold diamonds, animated sparks, and Paris’s iconic landmarks. Each hour there was a full cube takeover, taking advantage of the digital nature of the LED screens to show off a magical wraparound experience.
